Agriturismo Le Palaie
Our farmhouse faces on the Valle del Casentino, in the countryside that surrounds Capolona near Arezzo. We are in Tuscany, a few minutes from the Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi, a natural reserve where to organize pleasant walks and suggestive bike tours. The housing units are in the context of an agricultural farm that mainly produces olive oil, marmalades and honey. Our agriturismo is characterized by an ancient manor house dating back to the XVIII century that still maintains the traditional details. Moreover, the ancient shed is nowadays a little shop where it is possible to buy the products of the farm. Our aim is to create a suggestive atmosphere, indeed you can find ancient tools, traditional fireplaces and the old archive with the original documents of the lasts three centuries.
Swimming Pool and Activities
The agriturismo has a wonderful swimming pool at only 40 metres from the apartments. The pool is located on the last terrace of the garden in a common area surrounded by olive trees and wonderful roses. It covers 6 x 12 metres and it is equipped with sunbeds, loungers and parasols. At the farmhouse you can participate at languages classes and history lessons. History lovers can even consult our ancient archive and discover the origins both of our territory and buildings. Moreover, for good cuisine lovers we organize interesting cooking classes, indeed you can learn how to prepare the traditional recipes of the region. For those who, instead, prefer holidays characterized by nature and open air activities it is possible to organize walks and bike tours along the paths of the Natural Park of the Casentino.
Breakfast and Common Kitchen
One of the ancient cellars of the house is now the breakfast hall. It is a spacious place with stone walls and bright windows that face on the valley. Every day we serve a buffet breakfast based on marmalades, cakes, coffe, milk, fresh fruit juices and homemade sweets. Moreover, at the guests disposal a completely equipped common kitchen where to prepare delicious meals and spend moments of company.
Surroundings
Our farmhouse is at 1,5 km from the inner town of Capolona, located among the hills that face on Arezzo and the valley of the Casentinese. Capolona is at nearly 12 km from Arezzo, halfway from Siena and Perugia. We are in a territory renowned for the artistic and cultural heritage, the patria of Dante, Petrarca and San Francesco, a region of sanctuaries and historic centres. We suggest you to visit Chiusi della Verna, Caprese Michelangelo and Sansepolcro.
